The Rural Housing Incentive District is a program created by the State of Kansas that allows communities to use tax dollars ro pay for new infrastructure costs when developing residential subdivisions. RHIDs take the increased increment of taxes on newly built houses to pay for the infrastructure, such as streets, sidewalks, water and sewer, rather than using specials.Link to page
