Playgrounds and Splash Pads to Open Friday, May 22

Based on the guidance of the Reno County Health Official and the beginning of Phase 2 of the Governor’s Ad Astra Plan, the City of Hutchinson will be opening playgrounds and splash pads to the public beginning May 22. We ask that as you get out and enjoy the summer, you continue to be diligent in preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Please continue to observe social distancing guidelines and keep at least six feet between your group and others.
  • Consider coming back later if it starts to get too crowded to maintain safe social distancing.
  • Use good hygiene and sanitize your hands before and after touching common surfaces. The City will not be sanitizing playground equipment.
  • Do not visit these facilities if you aren’t feeling well or have any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • You are encouraged to wear a face covering where appropriate (those playing in splash pads should not).
  • Avoid touching your face and cover your nose and mouth with your elbow bend if you need to cough or sneeze.
  • Parents please help your children follow these guidelines to the best of your/their ability.
