What is stormwater?
Stormwater is runoff that is a direct result of precipitation. It flows in pipes, gutters and channels. Runoff can be on the surface in the form of sheet flow in streets, parking lots, sidewalks, construction sites and landscaping. Stormwater infiltrates into the soil and becomes ground water, is used by vegetation or flows into lakes or streams as surface flow.
